Terms of Service
Welcome to Aalap ("we", "us", "our"), operated from India. By using our service you agree to these terms. Please read them in full.
1. The service
Aalap is an AI-assisted video editing service that helps creators generate captioned, audio-enhanced short-form vertical videos from raw uploads and voice instructions. We provide it on an as-is basis with reasonable best efforts.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction. If you are under 18 you must have a parent or guardian agree to these terms on your behalf.
3. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us at support@aalap.app of any unauthorized use.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to upload or generate content that is:
- illegal under Indian law (including IT Act, IPC, BNS where applicable);
- infringing on third-party intellectual property or trademarks;
- hateful, harassing, defamatory or threatening;
- sexually explicit involving minors (zero tolerance);
- deepfakes intended to mislead, defraud, or impersonate without consent;
- spam, malware, or used to evade rate limits.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without refund.
5. Your content
You retain all rights to videos and audio you upload. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and transmit your content solely to operate the service and deliver finished reels to you. We do not train models on your content without separate written consent.
6. AI-generated suggestions
The titles, POV headers, CTAs, hashtags, and other suggestions produced by our AI are starting points. You are responsible for reviewing and editing them before publishing. We do not guarantee that outputs are accurate, original, or fit for any specific purpose.
7. Subscriptions, payments, GST
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through Razorpay. Indian GST is applied where applicable and shown on every invoice. Pricing may change with 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions honour the price at signup until the current billing period ends.
8. Cancellation & refunds
You may cancel at any time from your account page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
9. Service availability
We aim for 99.5% monthly uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance is announced when possible.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aalap's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless Aalap from any claim arising out of your content or your misuse of the service.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms periodically. Material changes will be notified by email and posted here. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
